Nice try, Giannis. But this “rebound” shouldn’t have counted.
Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the best basketball players in the world and seems to be a really good human being, too, which is always nice.
But what he did at the end of Sunday’s Bucks-Wizards game was a pretty lame, and the NBA should take action on it and strike the big man’s triple-double from the books.
In case you missed it, Antetokounmpo was a rebound shy of getting a triple-double. Then just before the final buzzer sounded, he took the opportunity to “attempt a shot,” but really he just did it to get his 10th rebound and secure the triple-double.
Check this out:
I mean, come on. I get that triple-doubles aren’t the most important things in the world, and we shouldn’t be freaking out about what he did—but that type of move is a pretty bad look.
That “rebound” was also huge for some bettors:
Could the NBA take that away? Yup.
I guess we’ll have to stay tuned. But yeah, that “rebound” was pretty silly.
