Michigan starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy made sure to make a beeline to his family moments after helping the Wolverines capture their first national championship since 1997.
McCarthy was seen hugging multiple family members and kissing his girlfriend before taking a picture with the whole group while donning his national championship hat.

McCarthy went 10-18 passing for 140 yards passing, and added 31 yards on the ground. Most importantly, he did not turn the football over as Michigan rushed for a College Football Playoff record 303 yards in the 34–13 win over Washington.
Jim Harbaugh cemented his legacy at Michigan by capturing the national championship, and it would surprise no one if he finally made the jump back to the NFL to chase after the Super Bowl title that’s eluded him as a head coach.
Harbaugh’s future remains to be seen, but thanks to McCarthy and Co., the Wolverines are national champions.
