Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and his eldest son, USC guard Bronny James, will be joining forces. Not on the court just yet, though, but in print. The father-son duo will appear on the same basketball card after signing a brand new deal with Fanatics, a representative told ESPN on Wednesday.
The signature card features LeBron during his high-school playing days at St. Vincent-St. Mary’s high school and Bronny with the Trojans with both of their signatures appearing as well. It will be included in the 2023-24 Bowman University Chrome Basketball set. The card will be released on Jan. 19, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
LeBron teased the partnership via Instagram earlier this week. The four-time NBA champion and all-time scoring leader had previously been with Upper Deck—another company known for its trading cards.
“As someone who appreciates all the moments—big and small—along the journey, I’m excited to share more with my fans through this partnership with Fanatics,” LeBron said in a statement.
“In sports, there is so much greatness to celebrate and I’ve always been one to take a moment to recognize that in athletes at the top of their games,” he added. “It’s all about celebrating the journey and enjoying those moments, with many more to come.”
