The Atlanta Falcons announced Monday that Bill Belichick had interviewed for their vacant head coaching position following the departure of Arthur Smith, who was dismissed after the ‘23 season.
Belichick, who parted ways with the New England Patriots last week after 24 years as the team’s coach, reportedly met with Falcons owner Arthur Blank in person recently.
Of course, it was Belichick’s Patriots that handed Atlanta one of the most infamous Super Bowl defeats in league history back in Super Bowl LI, when New England overcame a 28–3 lead in stunning fashion.
It didn’t take long for NFL fans to begin cracking jokes about that big comeback, and whether Belichick may have mentioned the legendary victory during his interview with the franchise.
Do we think they brought up 28-3 immediately or not at all? https://t.co/KR02qQ9UD4

Interviewer: Thanks for meeting with us Bill. Can you give an example of a time when it looked like you were totally out of a game, only to rally back and win? https://t.co/ipPk0M8jor
