Count Trevor Noah as one of Taylor Swift’s biggest supporters.
In his opening monologue at the 66th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, Noah addressed the ongoing criticism surrounding Taylor Swift and her on-screen presence in the NFL. The former Daily Show host said it was “so unfair” that football fans have been complaining about cameras showing Swift during games and poked fun at the overreactions she seemed to provoke.
“I think it’s so unfair how NFL fans have been complaining about the cameras cutting to Taylor Swift,” Noah said. “Like, she’s controlling the cameras at the game. Just let her live. Let her live.”

Noah then explained how he was going to get “revenge” for Swift, saying, “Tonight, on Taylor’s behalf, you know what I’m gonna do? I’m gonna give her a break. Every time they mention Taylor Swift, I’m going to get revenge. Every time someone says Taylor Swift, I’m going to cut the cameras to someone who played football. Cut, bam!”
Right on cue, the cameras cut to Terry Crews, a former NFL linebacker. “You like that, Terry Crews?” Noah joked. “You better fix your face, Terry!”
Noah’s words of support may go a long way for the Eras Tour performer, who has attracted plenty of negative attention ever since she started dating Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.
On Sunday, Swift, nominated for six Grammys this year, could become the first artist ever to win Album of the Year four times. Meanwhile, Kelce continues his preparations for Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers on Feb. 11.
