There were some impressive displays on Thursday in Indianapolis during the NFL scouting combine, but one standout performance in particular had the football world talking.
Former Penn State Nittany Lions defensive lineman Chop Robinson dropped jaws at the combine after recording an unbelievably fast 40-yard dash. Robinson, who measures in at 6’3” and 254 pounds, was clocked at a stellar 4.48 seconds on his 40, a truly remarkable time given his stature.
Robinson’s prolific 40-yard dash was almost one tenth of a second faster than the next speediest defensive lineman, Mohamed Kamara of Colorado State (4.57).
Robinson is projected as a late first-round pick in the upcoming draft, but his performance in Indianapolis could see him shoot up draft boards. It wasn’t just his 40 that was impressive. The former Penn State star also recorded the best 10-yard split (1.54s) among EDGE rushers and was tied for the highest broad jump (10’8”), too.
Football fans were in disbelief by Robinson’s blazing speed and size combination, and they had plenty of praise for the EDGE rusher on X, formerly Twitter.
Chop Robinson just ran a 4.49 40 yard dash… he is 254 pounds.

This is one of the reasons he's my top-rated EDGE player in this class. https://t.co/F1SHuveGSN
