Joey Porter Jr. added another chapter to the ongoing drama between the Steelers and Bengals ahead of their matchup this weekend.
The back-and-forth started after Steelers receiver George Pickens was called out by fans and teammates alike for failing to block on a play against the Colts. Bengals receiver Tyler Boyd decided to fire a shot at the team’s division rival, saying it showed a lack of camaraderie in the Pittsburgh locker room.
On Thursday, Porter weighed in with his own thoughts on the matter.
“He wouldn’t know. He’s not in the locker room,” Porter told reporters. “So his opinion really doesn’t matter.”
It’s not the first time that Boyd has fired shots at the Steelers locker room. After a 24–10 win over Pittsburgh in 2021, Boyd called out the Steelers for giving up late in the game.
“We are going to continue to try and make plays and make something happen,” Boyd said at the time. “But they portrayed to the whole nation on TV what were about and how they gave up. So we got to take advantage.”
While the two sides have now traded barbs back and forth for a few days, the teams will ultimately be able to settle things on the field this week as the Bengals travel to Pittsburgh on Saturday for a game at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
