Jim Harbaugh is officially returning to the NFL, as the Los Angeles Chargers hired him as their new coach on Wednesday. While many people are excited to see Harbaugh back in the NFL, maybe no one is more pumped than his brother.
While speaking to the media on Thursday, as the Baltimore Ravens prepare to play in the AFC championship game on Sunday, John Harbaugh gave his thoughts on Jim’s return to the NFL.
“We’re looking forward to all of it, just very happy for him, proud of him, excited for him,” John said. “I’ll say this, the Chargers just got them one great coach.”
“We play them next year.”

The two brothers have always been close, as evidenced by John’s appearance at the College Football Playoff earlier this month. Then, after Michigan won the National Championship, John explained why he believes Jim is “the best team builder in football right now.”
When Jim coached the San Francisco 49ers for four seasons, the brothers only faced each other twice, including once in Super Bowl XLVII. However, they will not have to wait long to coach against each other this time around, as the Chargers host the Ravens next year.
